Note individuelle : Abd ManÄüf ibn Quá¹úay (arabe : ϹϿϻ ÙàÙåϺÙü Ï¿Ùå ÙéÏÁÙè) était un quraychite né en 430, l'arrière-arrière-grand-père de Mahomet en ligne paternelle et le fils de Qusay ibn Kilab.
Il épousa une femme nommée Atika bint Mourra al-Salimiyya (des Banu Salim) et eut six fils : Abd Shams ibn Abd Manaf (en), Nawfal, Hachim ibn Abd Manaf (après que le clan des Banu Hachim fut nommé), Muttalib ibn Abd Manaf (en), Hala et Barra. Muttalib, qui était plus jeune que Hachim, lui succéda.
La tombe de Abd Manaf peut être trouvée dans le cimetière de Jannatul Mualla, à La Mecque, en Arabie saoudite.

`Adnan `Adnan (arabe : ϹϻÙåϺÙå) est traditionnellement l'ancêtre mythique des Arabes du nord (al-Adnani), qui occupaient le Nord de l'arabie, le Hedjaz, al-Yamama, et qui entretenaient une rivalité avec les Arabes du sud, descendants de Qahtan.
Il serait né en 122 avant l'ère chrétienne et serait le fils de Oudoud, descendant de Nebaioth (en) fils d'Ismaïl et donc petit-fils d'Abraham (Ibrahim).
Selon la tradition musulmane, la lignée de Mahomet remonterait à `Adnan via générations.
On trouve aussi un hadith rapporté par As-Suyuti où Mahomet aurait dit : ½ Ne faites pas remonter ma lignée au-delà de `Adnan. » mais il existe un autre hadith mentionnant justement une partie d'Adnan jusqu'à Ismaël.
Adnan serait le fils d'Oudad, fils d'Al-Mouqawwim, fils d'Al-Yas'a, fils d'Al-Houmaysa, fils de Nibt (Nobet) fils de Salaman, fils de Hamal, fils de Qidar, fils d'Ismaël.
Dans un autre hadith encore, on trouve Adnan fils d'Oudoud, fils de Zayd, fils de Barâ', fils d'A'laq al-Tharâ Isma`il, fils d'Ibrahim.
